And Dianna loves people. Put the two passions of her life together and you have this incredible podcast called WomensPokerYak. Normally, Dianna is the one dealing the questions to some pretty amazing guests but in this special edition of WomenPokerYak, the roles are reversed and Dianna herself is the amazing guest. How did she end up in the gaming world of poker? Who are some of the guests she has talked with and who are some upcoming guests? Why are her activities in charity events so important to her? And what new poker charity event is she involved in that is coming up the weekend of May 9th? (Here’s a hint on the last question- think Jason Alexander.) To find out the answers to these questions and a lot more just listen in.

After living in a Laos refugee camp for nearly five years Jerry and his family made their way out at the tender age of seven. The ‘Feed The Children’ organization kept Jerry and his family from starvation. His incredible podcast pulls at all of our hearts.

The Holiday season is the loveliest festival of the year. There is a warmth that enfolds our hearts and our homes. That magic blanket wraps itself around us, weaving a spell of nostalgia, but always, Christmas will be a day of remembrance, a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved and we remember.

The poker community, around the world, keeps the ‘heart of giving’ not just at Christmas but in their lives and hearts all year. Listen in as Dianna shares about this spirit of giving within the Poker community in this special 12 Podcasts of Christmas podcast.

The following are just a very few of the hundreds in the poker community that reach out to make a difference and change lives.

Annie Duke, Don Cheadle, and Matt Damon who every year shine at the World Series of Poker, raise money for Ante Up for Africa, www.anteupforafrica.org

Chris Moneymaker changed the poker world and the lives of millions by winning the WSOP title thru a $40 Buy-In to the main event playing poker online. In 2008 Chris gave a young man the ‘will to live’ after being burned on most of his body. Chris visited him in the hospital, encouraged him to get better and brought him to the 2008 WSOP and paid for his entry to play in the Main Event.

MIKE SEXTON is all of the above and more. Sexton is the most recognized “face and voice” of poker in the world thanks to television and the World Poker Tour WoldPokerTour.com soon to be aired on the FOX sports network for season seven. Having known Mike since the middle 80’s it is a special treat that Mike is sharing his thoughts, advice and insight to the podcast listeners. Mike Sexton is not only the best poker ambassador in the world, he is a gentleman and portrays his title with class and dignity. His standards are high as well as his integrity and love of the sport of poker.

MIKE has more than 30 years invested in the poker industry. Prior to becoming a professional player, he attended Ohio State University on a gymnastics scholarship and received his degree in Public Recreation. He then joined the Army and served the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC. After his stint in the service, he stayed in North Carolina, got married and worked four years as a military sales rep and ballroom dance teacher with Arthur Murray’s. About this same time Sexton began playing in home games and quit his job and began playing poker for a living, and has continued for over twenty years. Sexton made his move to Las Vegas in 1985 and never looked back.
SEXTON, with his beautiful wife Karen, have a new addition to their family a beautiful baby boy and at 7 weeks old Ty Sexton keeps both of them busy.

SEXTON gained celebrity icon status co-hosting the World Poker Tour with Vince Van Patten. He has written for CardplayerMagazine.com, Gambling Times and has served as a host and consultant for Party Poker. If all this wasn’t enough, Mike is known for being the founder of the Tournament of Champions of Poker. This unique event was held once a year, where any player that won a tournament during the previous year could compete. The field of champion players produced a “best of the best” and a very big prize pools. Unfortunately, the event only lasted three years. Mike wrote the book, Shuffle Up and Deal. One of the most impressive pieces he’s written. His foreword to Nolan Dalla’s One of a Kind: The Rise and Fall of Stuey “The Kid” Ungar is a touching tribute to the three-time WSOP Main Event champion.

JESSE JONES is gentle, kind man and passionate regarding poker. He is a retired real estate investor and lives in Las Vegas and Hawaii. Jesse has been around poker in excess of 20 years and was convinced poker needed a better image than had always been projected. Listen as Jesse gives us the rest of the story…..

He arrived at a moment in time with a great idea and forged full steam ahead on behalf of poker players. Two years ago Jesse founded The World Poker Association (WPAPoker.org). Poker needed standards that would be acknowledged in all the right places. He believes that more professionalism would benefit the millions who enjoy all that poker has to offer.

Jones is a three-time survivor of throat cancer and his health issues occasionally forced him to take time away from the poker tables. He has about 40 tournaments to his credit and tournament prize money totaling about $700,000. His first cash at the World Series came in 1997 when he finished 11th in a limit hold’em event.
His efforts to keep the association in the growth mode is never far from Jesse’s mind. For those of you who don’t know the WPA, it is an organization that acts as the voice of tournament poker players and tournament poker leaders who support the highest ethical standards in poker competition around the world.

The WPA now boasts membership totaling about 1,400 people in 28 countries and that number continues to increase. Jones, as the founder and chairman, continually keeps himself busy looking for good ideas for improvement in the sport of poker.
