“POKERS GIVING HEARTS”

The Holiday season is the loveliest festival of the year. There is a warmth that enfolds our hearts and our homes.  That magic blanket wraps itself around us, weaving a spell of nostalgia, but always, Christmas will be a day of remembrance, a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved and we remember.

The poker community, around the world, keeps the ‘heart of giving’ not just at Christmas but in their lives and hearts all year.  Listen in as Dianna shares about this spirit of giving within the Poker community in this special 12 Podcasts of Christmas podcast.

Barry Greenstein donates 100% of his poker tournament winnings to charity.

Jennifer Harman hosts an annual charity poker tournament raising money for the Nevada SPCA an organization for the prevention to cruelty to animals www.nevadaspca.org

Lisa Tenner, branding guru of Tenner & Associates highlights the Nevada Cancer Institute during the World Series of Poker Ladies Event www.nevadacancerinstitute.org and continues her efforts with a charity poker tournament for the Sun Flower Children in NY www.sunflowerchildren.org

Jennifer Tilly, movie star and talented poker player as winner of the 2006 WSOP Ladies Event, supports many charities although most of her efforts are focused towards the Make a Wish Foundation, www.wish.org

Chris Moneymaker changed the poker world and the lives of millions by winning  the WSOP title thru a $40 Buy-In to the main event playing poker online.  In 2008 Chris gave a young man the ‘will to live’ after being burned on most of his body.  Chris visited him in the hospital, encouraged him to get better and brought him to the 2008 WSOP and paid for his entry to play in the Main Event.

Victor Ramdin, a successful NY business man from NY travels with a team of poker players and doctors  every year to his native Guyana to help the children.
Victor also donates a % of his poker winnings to charity.

Jerry Yang, the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event winner has donated 1 Million dollars to “Feed the Children” www.feedthechildren.org.  Jerry will also be my Podcast Star during Christmas week.

Montel Williams,     avid poker player and diagnosed with MS, hosts many charity poker galas giving to the MS foundation seeking a cure www.montelms.org
